JOB DESCRIPTION:

NORC seeks a Senior Fellow for the Health Sciences Department. This person will provide strategic research leadership with ultimate responsibility for all activities, research personnel, and results for project assignments, including soliciting and obtaining new business, effective management of existing projects, and design of research methodologies. Accountable for maintaining a high standard of research output, as reflected in published research output. This is a conferred title.

DEPARTMENT: Health Care Evaluation

NORC’s expertise and ongoing research in health care delivery and financing — including health information technology, payment and delivery-system reform, benefit design, and quality measurement — advances stakeholders’ understanding of policies and programs, facilitates implementation projects, and contributes to important improvements in cost and quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position provides strategic research leadership with ultimate responsibility for all activities, research personnel, and results for project assignments, including soliciting and obtaining new business, effective management of existing projects, and design of data collection methodologies. Accountable for maintaining a high standard of research output, as reflected in published research output. 

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Recognition as an expert in a content area in education and child development, as evidenced by supporting publications and presentations. 
  • Understanding of qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
  • Expertise in managing large scale, complex research projects, or other similar accomplishments.
  • Experience in reporting on research to a wide range of stakeholders using a variety of platforms.
  • Deep and strong connections to major education clients.
  • At least 15 years’ experience in positions of increasing responsibility.
