We seek a Research Assistant for BEAD which resides within our Business Ventures and Innovation Department in our Washington DC Area office who will work onsite at Federal client locations.

BEHAVIORAL AND ECONOMIC ANALYSIS AND DECISION-MAKING
 
 
The Behavioral and Economic Analysis and Decision-Making (BEAD) team at NORC provides clients with actionable insights on critical policy and business issues. Applying rigorous, state-of-the-art methods from the fields of consumer behavior, judgment and decision-making, behavioral finance, household economics, cognitive science, experimental methods, and statistical analysis, BEAD obtains fact-based empirical evidence and distills the results into comprehensive, understandable, and usable reports and recommendations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide general research support related to survey methods and analytics on assignments of low to moderate complexity.
  • Conduct literature reviews, statistical analysis of primary and secondary data and prepares memos, tables, and graphs based on findings under supervision of experienced professionals.
  • Take notes at meetings and prepare initial draft of minutes. Take notes at telephone/in-person interviews.
  • Develop project materials, such as report outlines, visual exhibits for reports, and serving as an editor for deliverables.
  • Support business development efforts through coordination of document preparation and reproduction.
  • Under the direction of senior staff, support the development of new business by conducting background research on programs, award history, and agency goals and objectives.
  • Perform complex data analyses using SAS, R, Python or other statistical software package
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree with an excellent academic record, including courses in statistics, mathematics, social science, or computer science
  • Academic or work experience performing data analysis using a R and SAS
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and with others
