NORC at the University of Chicago, an independent research organization with 80 years of leadership and experience in data collection, program evaluation, data analysis, and information dissemination, seeks a talented Mulesoft Developer.
The Mulesoft Developer will join our growing IT team and support client-facing research projects involving data and system integrations as well as supporting internal NORC integration initiatives. Candidates must have deep hands-on experience with integration tools, processes, and best practices in order to drive continued growth and operational efficiencies across the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES: |
- Lead and/or support Mulesoft development on client projects involving data and system integrations, optimization of existing integrations, and enhancements
- Manage support requests including bug fixes and requests for enhancements
- Providing subject matter expertise in API design and best practices
- Conduct deep dive analysis with key stakeholders to interpret, define and document their requirements
- Ability to delve into ambiguous business problems, identify root causes and present scalable solutions.
- Serve as a resource for ongoing data management and governance, organizing documentation to support data integrity efforts
- Support Mulesoft releases and process for implementing new features with minimal user disruption
- Manage and respond to internal user support cases, and requesting external vendor support when needed
- Create APIs using MuleSoft to enable external systems to interact with Salesforce (example: retrieving client data or submitting new records)
- Automate processes related to data cleansing and transformation to ennsure high-quality inputs into Salesforce and other systems
- Configuring mechanisms to monitor API traffic, handle errors, and retry failed transactions between Salesforce and other systems
- Proactively communicate system changes to the user community and conduct training and support on Mulesoft functionality when required
- Manage project timelines, delivery, and deployment of Salesforce customizations with agile methodologies effectively
- Guarantee system data security and integrity, performing bulk data analysis and data loads
- Partner with internal NORC IT staff and external developers to integrate custom code and APIs
- Stay current on integration landscape functionality, best practices and product releases including, but not limited to Mulesoft
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS: |
- BS or BA degree in Business, Business Systems, or equivalent
- At least 5 years Mulesoft experience required
- Mulesoft certified developer certification preferred
- Expertise in the Mulesoft Anypoint platform
- Knowledge of RESTful and SOAP web services
- Proficiency in DataWeave for data transformation
- Understanding of data formats like JSON and XML
- Familiarity with integration technologies (HTTP, JMS, JDBC)
- Basic understanding of object-oriented programming languages like Java
- API development and management skills
- Ability to take insights and turn them into actionable steps that drive business value
- Operate efficiently with a high degree of accuracy
- Proven ability to prioritize, multi-task and complete tasks within specified timelines
- Detail-oriented, organized and dependable.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: |
The pay range for this position is $99,000 – $148,000.
This position is classified as regular. Regular staff are eligible for NORC’s comprehensive benefits program. Benefits include, but are not limited to:
