IT Security Analyst - Hybrid Chicago Loop Office

JOB SUMMARY:

The IT Security Analyst supports, reviews, and provides recommendations for improving security controls in systems that monitor and maintain NORC infrastructure and applications. The IT Security Analyst will also manage the Information Security queue for security services management. The analyst also is a primary responder for cyber and security events and will assist and support the team throughout the event.

This position will have a hybrid work schedule of one to two days a week in our Chicago Loop office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reviews security systems for anomalous behavior or activity 
  • Conduct security investigations and create tickets according, where needed 
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of the current cyber threat landscape and threats 
  • Ensure security events are handled when detected according to standard procedures 
  • Contribute to increasing the security maturity of security operations and overall IT Security
  • Understand and maintain current knowledge of tools, procedures and services within IT Security.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Preferred but not required: Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Business Administration, BBA, or other comparable degree
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Information Technology or Cyber Security
  • Ability to monitor and review security and IT systems
  • General understanding of IT security, infrastructure, operating systems, database and application operations
  • Understands vulnerability management, network architecture, and risk management.
  • Strong communication and people skills for interaction with users and other team members
  • Ability to transfer knowledge for less technical management.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

The pay range for this position is $77,000 – $98,000.

Hybrid work model in the heart of Chicago.

This position is classified as regular. Regular staff are eligible for NORC’s comprehensive benefits program. Benefits include, but are not limited to:
