JOB SUMMARY:

NORC at the University of Chicago is seeking an Operations Analyst to join the IT Administrative Systems group. Working closely with IT management, this position will be involved in a broad range of critical management functions, including: telecommunications invoice auditing, financial reporting, usage analysis and reporting, quality assurance and process improvement. And also be the primary point of contact with telecom carrier accounts. 

This position will be based in our Chicago Loop office, with the expectation of hybrid work schedule of two days a week in the office. 

DEPARTMENT: Information Technology Administrative Systems

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Process monthly telco invoices and manage approval process.  

  • Produce and validate monthly usage metrics.  

  • Develop standard processes and reports. Ensure the ongoing accuracy of the reports.  

  • Serve as primary point of contact for telco carriers. 

  • As reports are produced, analyze content and highlight relevant issues.  

  • Working with the IT managers, AP, and financial analysts, develop strategies to address problems in data or processes or revealed through reporting mechanisms. Participate in implementation of strategies. 

  • Undertake and/or lead special projects as required, for example, analysis of usage and call history data, preparation of SOPs, documentation of processes, auditing compliance with certain procedures, and user documentation of telco services. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Telecommunications, or related degree.  

  • At least one year of relevant experience in Telecommunications or with Telecommunications vendors. 

  • An ideal candidate will have experience working with external vendors in contract negotiations. 

  • Must have significant experience with Excel; experience with Access, SAS is a plus. 

  • Knowledge of principles and processes of survey research, especially data collection practices.  

  • Strong analytical skills, excellent problem identification and solving skills, accuracy, attention to detail, oral and written communication skills.  

  • Ability to meet deliverable timelines, identify and resolve issues in a timely manner; 

  • Proven record of working in a teamwork environment. 

  • Expectation of hybrid work schedule of two days a week in our Chicago Loop office.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

The pay range for this position is $61,000-$92,000.

This position is classified as regular. Regular staff are eligible for NORC’s comprehensive benefits program. Benefits include, but are not limited to:
