JOB SUMMARY: |
The Administrative Assistant for NORC People will provide comprehensive support to the NORC People team and department operations. The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of HR and administrative support related tasks and will be able to work independently with little supervision. Must be well organized, a problem solver, flexible, adaptable to changes and enjoy the challenges of supporting the department.

DEPARTMENT: NORC People |
The NORC People department supports NORC's mission and values by collaborating with research, operations, and administrative departments to recruit, develop, and retain top staff. Because NORC is a government contractor, the NORC People team plays a large role ensuring that all staff information and systems remain secure and that our organization is fully compliant with our policies. NORC People is responsible for talent acquisition, hiring, benefits administration, employee relations matters, and performance evaluation programs to ensure our organization is maintaining compliance while keeping employees’ best interests in mind.

RESPONSIBILITIES: |
- Prepare and arrange internal, external, and cross-departmental meetings (in-person, video), including catering and other services.
- Manage NORC People email inbox according to established guidelines.
- Manage general office support functions such as ordering and tracking supplies.
- Make travel arrangements for department as needed.
- Process and submit department invoices and purchase orders.
- Assist in preparing expense reports for NP senior leadership
- Assist Talent Acquisition function with routine processes, such as posting jobs.
- Assist Compliance team with routine audit processes in accordance with established guidelines.
- Assist T&D function with administrative responsibilities.
- Assist with special projects.

REQUIRED SKILLS: |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
- At least 1 year of relevant experience supporting an organization or department in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in HR or related field required preferred
- Advanced expertise in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and an overall proficiency with technology and software; strong PowerPoint design skills a plus
- Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to handle sensitive material in a confidential manner
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Creativity, a positive attitude, and the ability to identify problem-solve and recommend process improvements
- Flexibility, ability to pivot quickly, enjoys and thrives in non-routine tasks and situations
- Ability to be proactive, actively seek opportunities, identify possible obstacles, and propose solutions

SALARY AND BENEFITS: |
The pay range for this position is $46,000 – $69,000.
This position is classified as regular. Regular staff are eligible for NORC’s comprehensive benefits program. Benefits include, but are not limited to:
