NORC partners with government, corporate, and nonprofit clients around the world to conduct survey research that informs critical decisions facing society. 

  • NORC Field Data Collectors, internally known as field interviewers, play a significant role in collecting the data that drives our research. 
The Ideal Candidate for Field Data Collector:
  • Available to work a flexible, part-time schedule. Our most successful interviewers typically dedicate 4-6 hours a day to work on their assignments.
  • Self-starter who can manage, organize, and commit to their own work schedule.
  • Enjoys meeting new people from diverse backgrounds and professions.
  • Available to make “cold contacts,” both by phone and in-person to gain cooperation with new sample members.
  • Willing to conduct interviews both by phone and in-person at the respondent’s home, jobs or other public places.
Requirements For Employment:
  • NORC Field Interviewer Experience Required. 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED Preferred.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule of 20 – 25 hours per week.
  • Must be comfortable contacting people in-person at their homes, often without notice.
  • Flexible availability to work a mix of weekdays, and evenings/weekends often to reach people who are not home during the work week.
  • Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and access to reliable transportation.
  • Must reside within 100 miles of the location displayed in this job posting.
  • Must have basic knowledge of tablet or laptop usage skills such as sending emails or joining a video training call.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs up and down stairs as needed.
  • All employees hired for this position must present evidence of their identity and authorization to work in the United States (I-9 documentation).

Salary And Benefits:

This position is classified as intermittent. The pay range for this position will be $19.00 – $28.41 per hour, based on experience and geographic location.

  • NORC will contribute to an individually owned, fully vested retirement account with TIAA at a rate of $4.93 for each hour worked, and contributions will be made on a quarterly basis.
  • Intermittent staff are eligible to make pre-tax or post-tax contributions as part of NORC’s Supplemental Retirement Plan.
